2010!

Wow, I'm shocked at how poorly I've kept up with this blog! I apologize!!! I can't believe it's been almost an entire year since I've updated it lol. A LOT has happened since last December haha.

As you all know, Kyle and I were committed to losing weight this year and one of my goals was to do a 5k. I'm happy to report that Kyle has lost 54.8 lbs since Jan and I've lost 45.4 lbs AND I did my FIRST 5k at the Royals for my bd. I ran the whole time AND I got 4 minutes faster than my practice time, so I'm super proud of myself. I plan to do another one the weekend before Thanksgiving with my church, so I'll keep ya posted on that.

I for the first time in 5 years, got a part-time job working as a sub in a daycare. I haven't been called in YET, but my friend who works there told me maybe soon, as they're getting more enrollments. I got my first paycheck last week for training. I also teach my own Zumba class and I'm still helping teach our church's class. My class is free, but since it's 30 minutes away, the attendees give me gas money to help, which I think is very sweet! :-)

The girls are growing up so fast and their personalities are shining through! We celebrated Vi's 4th bd this year with a Kai-lan theme. Belle's 7th bd was this year and we had a bowling, Backyardigans party. They had a fun summer of going to the library for story-time and playing at the park. Now they're BOTH in school, which is a nice break for me in the mornings! Vi goes to K4 everyday, half a day and of course Belle goes all day and is in 1st grade this year! They're both doing very well! Vi is learning to write better and Belle is learning more concepts in English and Math. Belle has lost 5 teeth so far and we're still waiting on her 2 top teeth to grow in. I guess her wish will be the same as last year, "All I want for Christmas is my 2 front teeth". :-)

This year the girls are attending Awana at our church. They didn't go last year b/c of the cost, but I decided since I have a part-time job and I get money for teaching Zumba, that I'd put them in. THEY LOVE IT!!! They sing songs, do crafts, learn Bible stories and verses and of course have a snack. They're doing so good on memorizing scripture. I'm so proud of them! While they do that, I go to a ladies Bible study in another room of the church, so that's nice. Ladies, I totally recommend Angela Thomas' "A Beautiful Offering" book. It's AMAZING!

Some other things I did this year were a mini missions trip to Nashville to help with the flood relief and a women's conference in Springfield. Nashville was awesome! For 2 days we helped with the LAST house to basically gut it out for the insurance company. We found out that after doing that, the house probably wouldn't be saved, so what was the point in us even going there? The point was not the house, it was to show the people of Nashville that there are people who cared enough to take time out of their busy lives from another state to help them...to be a light! It was VERY hot and hard work and dangers of breathing in mold, but God was with us! I even had the privilege of praying for an older man at our hotel the morning we were leaving, so I felt the trip was complete after that. Our church is taking a trip to Guatemala in the Spring, so I plan (Lord willing) to go on that trip as well.

I just got back from a women's conference last weekend with our church. It was the same one I attended last year and of course it was just awesome again this year! I hope to go on a regular basis. The theme this year was "Dare to Dream", which is perfect b/c I feel I have been making my dreams come true starting this year! God is awesome!!

I also hurt my back a few weeks ago, pulling something in Zumba, which has never happened in the over 2 years I've taken it. It was just an attack b/c satan doesn't want God to get glory for everything He's doing in my life! I'm believing for a miracle and complete healing. You don't realize how much you use your back until it's hurt!

Kyle got a new job this year for better pay, so that's good. Although, insurance is a lot higher and it's a little further of a drive, but PTL! We're very thankful for it! He also discovered a new love for ping-pong lol.

Well, in a nutshell that's the update for the year lol. I'll try to keep this updated a lot more!! I hope everyone has had an awesome year so far.
